Welcome to Paradise Point in San Diego

Ryan and I recently visited Paradise Point Resort & Spa in San Diego that’s located on a PRIVATE ISLAND!! We stayed two magical nights in Bayside Junior Suite. The view was incredible from the room! We walked right out to the beach.

Inside the Bayside Junior Suite, we had a king bed that was on the firmer side. If you have been following along at Heidiisms, you know Ryan and I are at a standstill when it comes to bedding. I love soft & plush and Ryan loves firm. It‘s impossible to please us both🤣. Ryan loved the mattress and had a great night sleep while I wished it was a little softer (literally, my perfect bed would be made of Cotton Candy like Clouds) but still slept really well for being away from home.

The Bayside Junior Suite also has a living room with a queen pull-out sectional sofa, a dining area, generous walk-in closet, oversized bathroom with stand-up shower & a door separating the double-sinks & vanity area (key to being happy in any relationship 🤣), wet bar area (with microwave, mini-fridge, sink and coffee maker) and the private patio walking out directly to the beach. Missing from the photo below are the two white adirondack chairs Ryan already brought down to the beach.

We loved how Paradise Point features bungalows and each room feels like your own private retreat. Our first night we got in a little late after an airplane landed on I-5 (yes, you can’t make this stuff up) and caused severe traffic delays. Thank goodness everyone was okay. This definitely made an interesting start to our vacation!

When arriving, check-in at the lobby. I tried to check in at the Island Store which is the first building😅. You will see the tower and a cul-de-sac with a water fountain in the middle when you arrive to the lobby. The first time driving around can be a little confusing since the property is sprawling and beautifully spread out (like finding your room in Vegas- if all the rooms were side by side not vertical). Make sure you listen when they are giving up directions. My ADD always acts up and I forget that step. After driving around the whole resort (which I really enjoyed doing, Ryan was grumbling the whole time that I didn’t listen 🤣) we found our room which came with a private numbered parking space. So clutch for unloading!

When we got unpacked, our first stop was food! We were starving from the added hours on the road. There are two restaurants on the property and in-room dining. Let me tell you, the food was absolutely amazing. Everything we ordered was perfection! We started at the Barefoot Bar & Grill. Barefoot Bar & Grill is located right on the water by the boat & water rentals on the dock. While we were waiting on our food we took a quick stroll down the dock to scope out the rentals and grab a rate card for the next day.

Action Sports Rentals located right on the dock has so many different types of water amenities available for rent from paddle-boards, to motor boats, to sail boats and more. We decided to rent a 22’ sail boat and hire a skipper for a private lesson to start and then to sail so we could enjoy the sunset and have a glass wine & dinner waterside the next day!

After getting our water activities all booked for the next day, we walked back to enjoy our dinner over the water. We had the Crispy Brussel Sprouts, Berries & Greens Salad and the Classic Barefoot Burger. After dinner, we took the long way home by walking the beach. This is so peaceful & relaxing!

We stopped by the room and grab a light sweater then set out to the Island Market to grab firewood, s’mores kits and more for an evening fire pit by the bay!

Waking up so refreshed and smelling like the perfect bonfire we started our day with breakfast from in-room dining on our private deck. Try the B.E.T Sandwich and the yummy Bloody Mary! After filling our bellies, we set out to explore the property by playing so many of the games (cornhole, tennis, mini-golf) right on the property, feed the ducks, climb the tower and lay out by all five pools (I had to try them all). My favorite pools were the main pool (the tiki bar’s Piña Colada is really yummy too) and the waterfall pool.

We moved back to our room and did the in-room dining for lunch and ate out on the sand in our backyard on the bay!

Next up was our sailing lesson. Also, in your room there are two reusable water bottles that are complimentary. We packed a light dinner, some drinks and headed out for a sunset sail. This is a beautiful way to see the resort and the bay. We also learned you don’t have to be staying at the resort to rent the boats which was very nice to know incase we are down in SD for a day and are looking for something to do!

After sailing until the sun almost set, we headed back for another beachside fire-pit, s’mores and relaxing. Paradise Point has specials where you can book a private fire pit all set up with s’mores- click here to book during your stay.

In the morning on select days, you can start your day with paddle-board yoga or beachside yoga. There are so many other onsite activities you can also book by Clicking Here.

Ryan and I loved our time we spent in San Diego at the Paradise Point Resort & Spa and highly recommended this resort for couples looking to relax, unwind and families looking to have a whole island of amenities at your finger tips!
