We just got back from the most epic girls getaway and I’m so excited to share all my picks for wineries, adventures, restaurants and places to stay with you 🍇🍷
Starting in Napa some of my favorite wineries are:
Stony Hill is located on the beautiful eastern side of the Mayacamas Mountains in the Spring Mountain District AVA of the Napa Valley. We loved the views from the expansive property overlooking the valley and intimate outdoor tasting of delicious white and red wines.
We love the multiple options for tastings and that you can have a picnic with sandwiches, panini, salads, pastas, and other specialty items that are made fresh everyday. V. Sattui is located in St. Helena with over two acres of picnic grounds available to guests from 9AM-7PM.
This intimate estate combines comfort and elegance. We loved walking the property grounds and enjoying our own private area for the tasting with some delicious wine.
Located in Napa this hidden gem has real, historical wine caves and premier barrel tastings led by fun & educational wine enthusiasts. Del Dotto has three locations, two in Napa and one in St. Helena but this is my favorite location!
5. Mumm Napa
Check out the bubbly side of Napa Valley and visit Mumm. I absolutely love the private tours they offer and multiple tasting options. The vineyard green is gorgeous for photos as well!
This authentically-styled 14th century Tuscan castle is located in Calistoga. We loved the guided tour through the castle and the delicious barrel tastings. Make sure to bring your camera!!
Hungry? Check out A & W Restaurants 🍻 with a drive thru for classic root beer floats and quick on the go food. It’s perfect for in-between tastings! Located in St. Helena.
Looking for Adventure? Try the Napa Valley Wine Train 🚂 to explore the vineyards or for a sunset for dinner. Looking for a more of a one-of-a-kind experience? Check out Napa Valley Hot Air Balloons. Looking for music & dancing? Check out BottleRock in May 🎶
Traveling over to Sonoma only about 25 minutes from downtown Napa….
Here are my Heidiisms picks for wineries:
If you love art & wine this estate is for you. With one of the world's largest accessible private sculpture collections, consisting of more than 50 monumental works, including open-air sculptures this tasting is definitely one for the books!
2. B.R. Cohn
Located in idyllic Glen Ellen, in the heart of Sonoma Valley, this winery & olive oil estate brings the charm. Check out the Summer Music Series to experience local talent and take in the sounds while tasting!
Where to dine:
Located in the beautiful Sonoma Plaza, the girl & the fig features one-of-a-kind cocktails and delicious meal options. Also, after dinner definitely take a stroll around Sonoma Plaza.
2. Santé
Santé at Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn is best described as “California fusion with a Sonoma passion.” We loved this restaurant, right on the property we were staying, which made it convenient to get an award winning meal.
Adventures: Looking for a one of a kind experience? Check out Sonoma Valley Trail Rides and horseback through wine country. Looking for the festival experience in a vineyard? Check out the Sonoma Harvest Music Festival located at B.R. Cohn in October.
Where to stay: Looking for a resort that has it all? Look no further than the Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn. I highly recommend this Inn that truly has something for everyone from the geothermal fed mineral pools, farm to table dining, access to championship golf at neighboring Sonoma Golf Club, picturesque grounds surrounded by redwood trees that create the true Sonoma community as the sunsets with live entertainment and on-site wine tastings.
We stayed in the Mission Spa Suite complete with a wood burning fireplace, oversized spa tub that looks out to the suite with views of the wine covered blush buildings and courtyards from our oversized balcony.
We loved that the Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn had so much to offer and was centrally located everything in wine country.
Hope you loved my blog & if visiting the area love my recommendations!!
